I have Autism, I was diagnosed with it in Nov of 2004. Autism is a pervasive neurological development disorder, that causes problems in social, communication, behavior, and sensory areas of life. I am currently not talking but my mommy hopes that I will one day. I am in speech and occupational therapy. Since I was just diagnosed we haven't got into any more therapies. My mom is looking into different therapies such as Applied Behavior Analysis, or behavior modification, Auditory integration training, SON-RISE, TEACCH, GFCF (gluten&casein/dairy&wheat) diet, digestive enzymes, yeast overgrowth treatment, probiotics and more. My mom wants me to see a DAN dr. which stands for Defeat autism now, they are Dr's that apply biomedical approaches to treating autism, such as the diet and yeast treatment, chelation of heavy metal toxicity. We have been looking into the best and most practical one to see and we may have found one, we will let you know. This is a link to the astar center in Seattle Wa. Dr.Stobbe who is a DAN dr. but doesnt follow all of the DAN protocol practices there. This is the Dr. that mommy thinks might fit us right. Its a non profit center and is pretty cheap compared to most DAN dr's.
